Admission process
To be a part of the hotel management industry as a chef you need to score 60% marks in 10+2 and clear the entrance exam of hotel management. The hotel management entrance exam has topics related to English, Reasoning, General Science and General Knowledge. This written exam is followed by a group discussion. This entrance exam is held in the month of April and May. In July the education session of hotel management courses starts.

Salary of a chef
The journey to be a chef starts from the training period. During the training period, the trainee gets the stipend of Rs. 7,000/- to 10,000/- pm. This amount can be varying according to the training place.
After training another designation a future chef gets is Officer. The salary range for this job profile is Rs 12,000/- to 18,000/-. After gaining some experience as an officer, now you are ready to be a chef. The salary range for this designation also depends on the place you work. Usually, the chef gets salary Rs. 18,000/- to 30,000/- pm.
The executive and successful chefs get the salary up 1 lakh and more.
